Description
Case No. 2120: Nearly 6 months old, little baby Ramadhani binti Muhammad Firdaus lies on a hospital bed, kicking her tiny legs as if to tell the world, “I want to live.” She urgently needs heart surgery that costs RM40,000. This is her only chance to survive this critical stage of life. We sincerely appeal to the kind-hearted public to extend a helping hand and give this precious child a chance to grow up healthily.
Because a tube is fixed in her nostrils and must be secured to prevent accidental pulling, her upper body and hands are wrapped in towels. Feeling uncomfortable, she can only express it by moving her legs, hoping her parents will notice. Once the sweetest joy of her parents, she is now fighting for her life on a hospital bed.
She suffers from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), a 10 mm hole in her heart that urgently requires VSD closure surgery to save her life.
She cannot yet call “mama” or “papa”, but her round, sparkling eyes gaze at her parents as if she has so much to say but no words to express it, deepening their heartbreak.
[A tiny body suffering from an adult’s pain.]When Ramadhani was born, everything seemed fine. But at four months old, her mother, Najihah binti Roslan (34 years old), noticed worrying signs: rapid breathing, frequent vomiting after feeding, restless sleep, and no weight gain. Uneasy, the couple brought her to the hospital. Doctors heard a murmur in her heart, and further tests confirmed the hole. With her weak immunity, she soon contracted a lung infection and required nearly a month of hospital treatment.
The prolonged illness stole the smile from this once cheerful baby’s face, breaking her parents’ hearts.
Ramadhani is the couple’s first child. To her father, Muhammad Firdaus bin Mustapha (33 years old), she is a priceless treasure and a special girl in the family. The day he learnt about her condition, he broke down in tears on his way home.
[Behind the tears lies endless love.]During hospital stays, he often sees his daughter looking at him, as if to reassure him, “Don’t worry, Papa.” She loves kicking her little legs, seemingly excited whenever her parents are nearby. These moments fill them with both sorrow and comfort. While sharing his daughter’s condition with social workers, he could not hold back his tears. His wife gently patted his shoulder, offering comfort. Hand in hand, they encouraged each other. We know that behind their tears is boundless love mixed with helplessness.
[Surgery cannot wait, and RM40,000 is still needed.]To care for their daughter, the mother resigned from her teaching job, leaving the family dependent solely on the father’s technician income. Previous hospital stays have already drained their savings. Doctors estimated the surgery would cost RM80,000. The couple managed to gather half, but the remaining RM40,000 is an impossible barrier for them to overcome alone.
Their baby has already spent too long in the hospital. Each day brings the fear of another infection. With courage, they now turn to the public for help.
We are launching this crowdfunding campaign to raise RM40,000 so that little Ramadhani can undergo her life-saving surgery and have the chance to grow up healthy like other children her age.
We appeal to your kindness. Please extend your helping hand to help restore this baby’s smile. Let her have a simple yet happy childhood. We also ask you to share this appeal so that more people can come together in love and help us reach the fundraising goal sooner. Thank you.
