Description
Case No. 2115: At only 32 years old, he is facing a life-threatening challenge, yet he refuses to give up! Right now, he urgently needs an oxygen concentrator worth RM6,000 to keep him alive. We sincerely appeal to the kindness of the public to donate and help this strong young man through his toughest battle.
Lau Chun Wing is just an ordinary young man working in online sales. Three years ago, he suffered from persistent coughing and fever. Despite repeated medical treatments, his condition never improved, so he was admitted for further examination. The results came as a devastating shock. He was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, caused by genetic mutation.
In the first few days after receiving the diagnosis, he was silent and devastated. But soon, he told himself, “It has already happened. Staying in despair won’t help.” With that determination, he began taking targeted cancer medication. The medicine worked for 7–8 months before losing its effect. He then switched to another medicine, but it was less effective. Later, even when he returned to the first medication, it no longer worked, leaving chemotherapy as the only option.
[His body is getting weaker.]The side effects of the cancer drugs are severe. Chun Wing shared that he often loses balance while walking, cannot squat suddenly, suffers from bleeding gum, and sometimes coughs until he vomits.
Currently, he has paused cancer medication because doctors discovered he developed blood clots. His heart rate had once spiked to over 150, requiring immediate treatment. Doctors advised that even after discharge, he cannot stop taking cancer drugs to control his illness. Since even slight movement leaves him gasping for air, doctors strongly recommended the use of an oxygen concentrator to ease his symptoms and prevent further deterioration, which could otherwise be life-threatening.
[He has elderly parents and no one else to rely on for support.]Previously, Chun Wing helped his ageing parents run a small tofu stall at the market, but the income was meagre. After falling ill, he switched to lighter jobs, changing several times. This year, due to frequent hospital admissions, he had to resign. With the help of friends, he found an online sales job, but his pay barely covers daily needs.
Lying on his hospital bed, he reflected deeply. At his age, he once had dreams and hopes for the future, but now all he can do is follow the doctors’ advice and purchase an oxygen concentrator. However, the RM6,000 cost is far beyond his means. Feeling helpless, he turned to us for support.
To help Lau Chun Wing, we are launching a fundraising appeal of RM6,000 to purchase an ECARE 10L Oxygen Concentrator. We urgently call on kind-hearted donors nationwide to lend a helping hand. Please also share his story so that more people can join in this effort. Thank you.
