Description

Case No. 2002: Please donate to help fund the funeral of an elderly woman—your kindness will be a great act of compassion.

68-year-old Wah Mary was hospitalized for two months due to breathing difficulties and sadly passed away from severe pneumonia. Her son is unable to afford the sudden funeral expenses and sincerely appeals to the public for generous donations to help with the funeral so that his mother may rest in peace.

Her son, Au Seng Soon (37 years old), told the social worker that his mother had been experiencing breathing problems since last year due to a bacterial lung infection and had been in and out of the hospital. She was unable to eat or drink and had to be fed through a tube. Even her phlegm had to be suctioned out using a machine by the family; otherwise, it would cause breathing difficulties.

Three weeks ago, a medical report confirmed that Wah Mary had a tumour in her lungs, which was quite large, weakening both her lungs and heart. Due to her old age, surgery was too risky, so her condition could only be managed with medication. Her son did not expect to receive a heartbreaking call from the hospital on the morning of April 13, 2025, informing him of her passing.

According to the death certificate, Wah Mary passed away at 9:07 AM on April 13 due to severe pneumonia.

She is survived by two children and a 78-year-old husband who has been retired for many years. The family of four depends solely on the two brothers selling eggs at the market to make a living. Due to poor business, their livelihood has become increasingly difficult. They are currently unable to bear the sudden cost of the funeral. In desperation, the son has entrusted us to assist with his mother’s final arrangements.

We are handling the whole funeral process for the deceased, which includes body transfer, prayer ceremony, and cremation. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the entire funeral, please contact any of us for more information. Thank you.

The prayer ceremony will be held at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlor (Hall XX) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, April 14, 2025, followed by cremation on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The ashes will be placed by her family.
