Description
Case No. 1996: We earnestly seek the kindness and generosity of the public to help fund the funeral arrangements for 79-year-old Madam Then Ken Fon, allowing her to rest in peace.
The late Madam Then Ken Fon was an elderly woman who endured many hardships in life. Unfortunately, she suffered from diabetes and had been in poor health for a long time.
Her eldest son, How Soon Loong, did his best to care for her, but he himself was battling stage 3 lung cancer. Despite undergoing surgery, his frail condition made it impossible for him to provide daily care for his mother. With no other choice, he placed her in a nursing home, hoping she would receive the proper care she needed.
How Soon Loong (60 years old) shared with the social worker that his mother had previously suffered a fall, injured her leg and leaving her unable to walk or care for herself. As a result, she was hospitalized for three weeks. During her stay, her immobility led to bedsores developing on her back.
On March 20, 2025, Madam Then was discharged from the hospital and returned to the nursing home for further care. However, fate was unkind—on April 1, she suddenly fell critically ill. Her children rushed her to the hospital, but despite their efforts, she tragically passed away, leaving them devastated.
According to the death report, Madam Then Ken Fon passed away at 3:16 PM due to geriatric disease.
Mr. How Soon Loong shared that he once ran a small business, but it collapsed during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, plunging him into financial difficulties. Now, as he grows older, finding stable employment has become increasingly difficult. He can only earn a modest income by making deliveries. His younger brother, who also has a family to support, is unable to contribute to their mother’s funeral expenses. Their mother’s sudden passing has left them heartbroken, and what makes the situation even more distressing is their inability to afford the funeral costs.
In response to How Soon Loong’s plea for help, we have taken the initiative to arrange and fully cover the funeral proceedings for the late Madam Then Ken Fon. We are handling the whole funeral process for the deceased, which includes body transfer, prayer ceremony, and cremation.
We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.
If anyone is interested in donating for the entire funeral, please contact any of us for more information. Thank you.
The prayer ceremony will be held at Gui Yuan Funeral Crematorium Petaling Jaya (Hall 1) on Thursday, April 3, 2025, followed by cremation on Friday, April 4, 2025. The ashes will be placed by her family.
