Description

A poor 10-year-old boy has lost the normal function of both his legs and hands. He is unable to walk and requires urgent assistance. We sincerely appeal to kind-hearted individuals across the country to help raise RM6,500 for him to purchase a specially designed wheelchair, allowing him to live a better life.

Case No. 1992: As PAAVIEN grows, his inability to move for long periods has led to continuous weight gain. His impoverished single mother, with immense determination, carries him up and down the four-story low-cost apartment to take him to the hospital. Each step she takes is filled with fear and exhaustion, relying solely on her unwavering strength and love. Witnessing their daily struggle is truly heartbreaking and highlights the immense greatness of a mother’s love.

PAAVIEN was once a healthy and energetic child. Unfortunately, at the age of three, he was hospitalized due to a high fever. Later, doctors noticed that he had difficulty walking, requiring support to move around. After further examinations, he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a condition that requires ongoing treatment.

This disease weakens both his arms and legs, leaving him unable to walk. He depends entirely on a wheelchair for mobility and requires constant care for his daily activities.

【A Struggling Single-Mother Household】

PAAVIEN comes from a single-parent family, where all responsibilities fall on his mother, who works as a cleaner. With her meagre income, she not only has to care for PAAVIEN but also his younger sister.

For years, PAAVIEN’s mother, Subashini A/P Rajendran (39 years old), has been taking care of him. They live in a low-cost apartment without an elevator, and every time PAAVIEN needs medical attention, his mother must carry him up and down four flights of stairs.

As PAAVIEN grows, his increasing weight makes it nearly impossible for his mother to continue carrying him. Recently, after taking him to the hospital, she suffered a back injury and had to rest for two days.

She is deeply worried about her son, especially since his fever often leads to breathing difficulties and other complications. Despite the hardships, she perseveres, dedicating herself to his care every moment of the day.

Due to financial constraints, she is unable to afford the special wheelchair her son desperately needs. As a result, she has reached out to us for assistance. Upon learning about their struggles, we decided to step forward and raise RM6,500 to purchase an 18-inch Lightweight Motorized Wheelchair for PAAVIEN.

We earnestly appeal to generous individuals nationwide to contribute to this cause and help PAAVIEN acquire the wheelchair he urgently needs. We kindly ask everyone to share this message so that more kind-hearted people can come forward and help us reach the goal as soon as possible. Thank you!
