Description

Case No. 1958: As the Lunar New Year approaches, tragedy strikes 82-year-old Mr. Chong Hon Seong (also known as Chong Kin Seong), who passed away in the hospital due to late-stage lung cancer. His daughter is unable to bear the unexpected funeral expenses and sincerely appeals to kind-hearted individuals across the country for donations to allow the deceased to rest in peace.
With the festive season nearing, families are preparing for the New Year celebrations. However, Mr. Chong had been struggling with severe breathing difficulties and was unable to eat for the past month. Alarmed by his deteriorating condition, his daughter immediately admitted him to the hospital for treatment. Despite two weeks of hospitalization, he sadly succumbed to his illness on January 12 at 12:22 PM.
The eldest daughter, Chong Hup Chin (41 years old), shared that six months ago, her father was diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer after experiencing discomfort and undergoing medical tests. Despite knowing his health was deteriorating rapidly, the family continued to hold onto hope, wishing he could overcome this ordeal and celebrate the New Year together. Unfortunately, the devastating news of his passing brought immense sorrow to the family.
According to the death certificate, Mr. Chong Hon Seong passed away due to Advanced Lung Carcinoma complicated with Bacteraemia on January 12, 2025, at 12:22 PM.
Ms. Chong Hup Chin explained that her father was an insurance agent during his younger years and had been retired for many years. Her mother is a homemaker, while she and her younger sister, both unmarried, work as clerks earning modest salaries. In addition to their financial struggles, they are also caring for their mother, who previously suffered a minor stroke. Faced with the sudden funeral expenses, the family is overwhelmed and heartbroken. They have reached out to us in hopes of receiving assistance to give their beloved father a dignified funeral.
The prayer ceremony will be held at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlor (Hall N) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, January 13, 2025, followed by cremation on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The ashes will be scattered into the sea, allowing the deceased to return to the embrace of nature and rest in peace.
