Description

A 3-year-old boy urgently needs your help! He is unable to have normal bowel movements or eat properly, leading to a pitiful and heartbreaking situation. He desperately needs your compassion and support—please extend a helping hand to save him!

Since birth, Cheah Yu Hang has been battling a serious illness. He urgently requires RM40,000 to cover medical and medication expenses to continue his fight against the disease. As his parents are unable to bear the overwhelming costs, they have no choice but to appeal to the public for assistance.

Case No. 1952: Born in July 2021, Yu Hang could not pass stool within 48 hours of birth and had to remain under medical observation. He was later diagnosed with a severe and rare condition called bowel obstruction, which prevents his intestines from absorbing nutrients. To survive, he requires external tubes for intravenous nutrient infusions and a colostomy bag for waste excretion.

Unlike other children, Yu Hang cannot eat or drink normally. Consuming milk or other foods places an unbearable strain on his intestines, often causing vomiting. His only source of nutrition comes from doctor-prescribed nutrient-infused water, supplemented occasionally with plain water. This condition has caused him unimaginable suffering since infancy.

[Faeces Reflux into His Mouth]

Under his mother’s care and guidance, Yu Hang has cooperated as best as he can. Every evening from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day, he patiently endures nutrient drips, which are his sole source of sustenance.

The long nights are the hardest for him. Sometimes, due to intestinal blockage, faecal matter flows back into his mouth, causing him to vomit. His mother, holding back tears, quickly cleans his body, replaces the colostomy bag, and soothes him back to sleep.

In the mornings, Yu Hang often cries to his mother when experiencing abdominal pain. She promptly changes his colostomy bag to relieve his discomfort.

Regular cleaning and tube maintenance are crucial to prevent bacterial infections, a task often accompanied by Yu Hang’s cries. However, once distracted, he forgets the pain and smiles—a sight his parents cherish deeply. Despite their hardships, his parents remain determined to fight for Yu Hang’s future, no matter how challenging it may be.

Yu Hang is growing into a clever and resilient child. He has learned to express gratitude, saying, “Thank you!” to social workers and others who help him.

Yu Hang’s father, Cheah Tai Wai (39 years old), and mother, Ang Sheue Shya (38 years old), have devoted themselves to his care.

[Parents’ Unwavering Dedication]

Yu Hang also has a 4-year-old sister. To support the family, his father works tirelessly as a ride-hailing driver, often skipping meals and working late into the night. Although exhausting, this job is their only source of income, especially with Yu Hang’s substantial medical expenses.

[Appealing for Help Again]

At six months old, Yu Hang was hospitalized for over a year. Upon discharge, doctors required his home to have a sterile room and essential medical equipment, such as air purifiers, total parenteral nutrition (TPN) systems, infusion pumps, medical gloves, disinfectants, and daily medications.

Yu Hang once suffered a severe bacterial infection, causing him to lose significant weight. To prevent further infections, he must use doctor-prescribed medicines and equipment.

In 2022, his parents sought assistance from us. Through Crowdfunding #1330, launched on January 3, 2022, they successfully raised funds to cover Yu Hang’s medical expenses. However, nearly three years later, these funds have been exhausted.

Now in desperation, his parents have turned to us for help again. This time, we aim to raise RM40,000, allocated as follows:

Medical expenses: RM10,000

Home care medication: RM30,000

We sincerely appeal to kind-hearted individuals nationwide to help Yu Hang receive continued care and treatment. Please share this message to help the crowdfund reach its goal and provide Yu Hang with the support he urgently needs. Thank you!
