Description

Case No. 1938: An appeal to kind-hearted individuals nationwide to assist with funeral arrangements for a 5-month-old baby boy. Baby Van Lian Thang was born with multiple illnesses and tragically passed away after an emergency admission to the hospital. His grieving parents, unable to bear the unexpected funeral expenses, are appealing for donations to give their baby a dignified farewell.

Van Lian Thang suffered from respiratory infections and neurological deterioration, requiring tube feeding since birth. For months, his parents diligently took him to medical appointments and cared for him at home. However, on November 26, his condition worsened, and he was rushed to the hospital overnight. Despite the doctors’ efforts, he tragically passed away on November 27 at around 2 a.m.

Unlike other children, Van Lian Thang faced immense challenges from the start of his life due to multiple congenital illnesses. His parents spared no effort in seeking treatment for him, but the baby ultimately succumbed to his illnesses. His sudden passing has left his parents heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief.

According to the death report, Van Lian Thang passed away from myocarditis on November 27 at 1:04 a.m.

The baby’s father, Nay Lin Thang, shared with a social worker that Van Lian Thang was the younger of twin boys. Sadly, his twin brother is also battling illnesses and undergoing treatment. Both parents, aged 29 and foreign nationals, came to this country seeking a better life. They were overjoyed to welcome twins, but their happiness turned to sorrow as the babies faced health struggles. Tragically, one of the twins has now left this world without even having the chance to fully experience its beauty.

The father, formerly a restaurant assistant, earned very little. Recently, he lost his job due to frequent absences while taking his son for medical care. This has plunged the family of four further into hardship, leaving them unable to afford the funeral costs for their son.

At the parents’ request, we are handling all aspects of the baby’s funeral arrangements, including body transfer and Christian memorial ceremony. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so he can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the entire funeral, please contact any of Da Ai’s social workers for more information. Thank you.

The Christian memorial ceremony will be held at Gui Yuan Funeral Crematorium Petaling Jaya (Hall 1) on Friday, November 29, 2024. The parents will handle the ash placement on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
