A 15-year-old boy has been diagnosed with CRASH syndrome, resulting in severe complications like hydrocephalus, an enlarged head, inward-curved thumbs, and paralysis of his limbs. He urgently needs care and support to alleviate his intense suffering. He deserves a peaceful life.
Case No. 1926: We sincerely request compassionate individuals nationwide to donate RM 5,808 to DEVASURYAN A/L PRABAGARAN for essential items such as diapers and nutritional milk powder to support him in living with dignity. Every donation counts and will be his lifeline.
For 15 years, he has been unable to experience the world like other people; lying in bed and staring at four walls is his whole life.
Diagnosed with CRASH syndrome at birth, DEVASURYAN has been bedridden and entirely dependent on others. Medical reports indicate that his condition is progressively worsening, requiring constant care and regular hospital follow-ups.
[Struggling with Severe Illness and Emotional Pain]
During a recent social worker visit, DEVASURYAN was visibly joyful yet conflicted, likely yearning to express himself but unable to find the words. The social worker noted that his severe physical trauma has also affected his emotions, to the point where he resists going for haircuts to avoid seeing too many unfamiliar faces.
[Parents Also Suffer in Hardship]
DEVASURYAN’s mother, MOHANA CHELVI, used to work as a clerk at a hospital. Unfortunately, she recently developed a rare illness that causes unexplained swelling in her hands and feet, leaving her unable to continue working. Despite her condition, she tirelessly cares for her son, who requires round-the-clock assistance.
Ten years ago, DEVASURYAN’s father, PRABAGARAN, was hit by a truck that ran a red light. His ankle was severely damaged, requiring a graft from his calf for him to walk. Sadly, he was in another accident a few years ago, which resulted in serious injuries to both arms, necessitating surgery to insert screws and metal plates.
Although he struggles with pain and limited mobility, PRABAGARAN continues to work, currently helping at a Hindu temple to support his family of five. DEVASURYAN is the eldest of three children, with his younger siblings still in school.
Faced with the need for essential supplies for his son, PRABAGARAN is unable to bear the financial burden alone and has reached out to us for assistance. To support DEVASURYAN, we aim to fund two years of milk powder and diapers, totalling RM 5,808.
The breakdown is as follows:
1. TENA Diapers (L):
RM 22 x 6 packs = RM 132
RM 132 x 24 months = RM 3,168
2. NESTLE EVERYDAY (FAMILY) Nutritional Milk Powder, 1.5kg:
RM 55 x 2 packs = RM 110
RM 110 x 24 months = RM 2,640
Total: RM 5,808 (RM 3,168 + RM 2,640)
