Description

Case No. 1895: A 71-year-old mother, Yap Mee Geok, passed away at home due to geriatric disease. Her children are unable to afford the sudden funeral expenses and are humbly requesting donations from kind-hearted individuals across the nation so that she can rest in peace soon.

Yap Mee Geok was admitted to the hospital due to breathing difficulties caused by asthma. After more than two weeks in the hospital, she expressed a desire to return home, even though she still needed a breathing machine during the journey. Unfortunately, about an hour after arriving home, she passed away, leaving her family in deep sorrow.

Her second son, Ong Seng Whatt (50 years old), revealed to a Da Ai social worker that his mother had suffered from high blood pressure and a minor stroke and had been in and out of the hospital multiple times. This time, she was unable to overcome the final challenge of life after returning home from the hospital.

According to the death report, Yap Mee Geok passed away at 6:13 PM on August 28 due to a geriatric disease.

Yap Mee Geok’s husband passed away many years ago. She has five children. Ong Seng Whatt explained that among the five siblings, two sisters are married and come from struggling households. One brother works as a renovation worker, earning a minimal and unstable income. Ong Seng Whatt himself has two metal rods implanted in his leg, affecting his ability to work, and can only manage a job at a grocery store, which makes life difficult. Another brother is also facing financial challenges.

The death of their mother has left Ong Seng Whatt heartbroken. However, what pains him even more is that his mother deserves a peaceful rest, but the family is unable to cope with the sudden funeral expenses. In desperation, the siblings decided to seek assistance from Da Ai.

Da Ai will take full responsibility for the funeral arrangements. We are handling the whole funeral process for the deceased, which includes body transfer, Hokkien prayer ceremony, and cremation. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.

If anyone is interested in donating for the entire funeral, please contact any of Da Ai’s social workers for more information. Thank you.

The prayer ceremony will be held at Fairy Park Funeral Parlor (Hall 5) in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, August 30, 2024, followed by cremation on Sunday, September 1, 2024. The ashes will be placed by her family.
