Description
Case No. 1866: A 79-year-old elderly faced a tragic end. She moved from another place to the Kuala Lumpur area with her only daughter for a new life. Unfortunately, she broke her leg, which led to a myocardial infarction, and passed away. Her daughter cannot afford the funeral expenses and is appealing to kind-hearted people for generous donations to cover the funeral costs, allowing her mother to rest in peace soon.
After breaking her leg, Mrs. Chin Ah Sew @ Tan Chiang Fong insisted on recovering at home. Her daughter’s difficult situation made her unwilling to be a burden, as her daughter is a divorcee raising two children. Mrs. Chin chose to endure the pain and stay in bed, refusing her daughter’s care. She remained bedridden, unable to move, eat, or even drink water.
Her daughter, Aw Sheue Nie, tearfully recounted her mother’s condition to Da Ai social workers. She had brought her elderly mother and two young children to this big city for a fresh start, never expecting such misfortune. Despite her severe pain, Mrs. Chin chose to recuperate on her own to avoid burdening her daughter.
The injury was more severe than they had anticipated. Two weeks later, seeing her mother’s agony, Aw Sheue Nie called an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Upon admission, doctors found that she was severely dehydrated, and that prolonged bed rest had caused her back muscles to ulcerate. The delayed hospital visit, coupled with her advanced age, led to a heart attack, and she passed away.
The death report indicated that Mrs. Chin Ah Sew passed away due to a myocardial infarction at 4:46 PM on June 28.
After her mother passed away, Aw Sheue Nie, who has to care for her two children, aged 14 and 12, is struggling. She works as a part-time labourer and finds it difficult to support the family, let alone afford the funeral expenses. Hence, she sought help from Da Ai.
Da Ai will take full responsibility for the funeral arrangements. We are handling the whole funeral process for the deceased, which includes body transfer, Christian memorial ceremony, and cremation. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.
If anyone is interested in donating for the entire funeral, please contact any of Da Ai’s social workers for more information. Thank you.
