Description

Urgently seeking a donation of RM 2500 to help a young girl with cleft lip and palate undergo surgery to prevent impaired speech abilities!

Case No. 1842: Nur Rabihtul Adawiyah Rezuadin, a girl just 1 year and 8 months old, suffers from a bilateral complete cleft lip and palate. She has already undergone corrective surgery for her upper lip. Now, she urgently needs palate repair surgery, as failure to do so will severely affect her ability to learn speech, hindering her normal life in the future. Due to financial hardship, her family cannot afford the surgery, and we earnestly appeal for kind-hearted donations nationwide.

Nur Rabihtul underwent lip repair surgery at 6 months old, where doctors closed the cleft in her upper lip, improving its appearance. However, palate repair must wait until she grows older because doctors need to use her own cheek or thigh tissue for the surgery.

Her mother, Rusminah Khairul Bashar, told social workers that besides saying “mommy,” Nur Rabihtul cannot speak any other words. She only calls everyone “mommy.” Her lack of speech-learning capability deeply troubles her mother, as it will affect her entire life. Without palate repair surgery, her language skills will not progress, and it could even lead to speech impairment. Thus, the earlier the surgery is completed, the better.

Doctors have informed her that the baby must undergo surgery, but her parents, struggling with inadequate finances, keep delaying it. However, postponing is not a solution. Her mother doesn’t want to miss the chance for treatment, but their poverty prevents them from affording the surgery, causing great anguish and guilt. Her mother is deeply saddened and doesn’t understand why her child has this problem. She cannot accept her daughter growing up to be a person with defects due to a palate cleft, regretting it for life.

Nur Rabihtul’s father works in a factory, while her mother takes care of two children at home. The family barely gets by on the father’s meager income and cannot afford additional surgery costs, so they seek help from Da Ai.

On behalf of the parents, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign for Nur Rabihtul, appealing to kind-hearted people nationwide to donate RM 2500 for her palate repair surgery. We also hope that kind-hearted individuals will help spread this message to ensure the little girl receives her surgery soon and can enjoy happy learning and growth. Thank you.
