Description
A young boy urgently needs surgery! We earnestly request generous individuals nationwide to donate RM20,000 for the surgery cost to remove his pacemaker. It has been in use for 9 years, and the depleted battery poses serious risks if left in his body.
Case No. 1841: 12-year-old Ho Li Yang no longer needs the pacemaker as his heartbeat has returned to normal. It must be removed to prevent potential complications with the heart’s arteries or vessels. His father works in a wood processing factory and cannot afford the surgery. We implore everyone to donate.
Ho Li Yang was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect (VSD) at the age of 3 and underwent heart repair surgery in August 2015. However, doctors found his heartbeat weak afterward and sometimes even had sudden heart stopping, leading to the pacemaker’s implantation to regulate his heartbeat.
His father, Ho Kok Seng (45 years old), and mother, Hoang Thi Hanh (39 years old), have been worried about Li Yang’s health for years. Since he was three, they’ve been vigilant about his health, hoping for his safety.
The father mentioned Li Yang can’t play like other kids since the surgery; even small movements could affect his heart. He informed the school about his condition, ensuring Li Yang wasn’t bullied and that teachers provided extra care.
Li Yang’s mother has been especially anxious, hoping for his well-being. Recently, they received the good news that Li Yang’s heartbeat has normalized and he no longer needs the assistance of a pacemaker. The mother was happy that Li Yang had overcome his illness, which was undoubtedly a cause for celebration. However, her joy was quickly overshadowed by concern because her son’s body was growing day by day, and the pacemaker needed to be removed as soon as possible. Otherwise, the risk would increase day by day. But where would the money come from to cover the RM20,000 surgery cost? A poor family like theirs simply couldn’t afford it.
Ho Kok Seng earns little as a wood processing factory worker, while his wife takes care of their three children. They have three children: an eldest daughter aged 13, a younger son aged 7, and Li Yang, the second child, who is 12 years old and currently ill. All the children are attending school. The family of five relies solely on the meager income of the father to sustain their livelihood. Their daily lives are already very difficult. With their limited income and no savings, they can’t afford Li Yang’s surgery. The mother only wishes for Li Yang to lead a happy and healthy life after the pacemaker’s removal, doing what he loves.
The surgery date cannot be delayed. The parents are anxious and helpless, seeking assistance from compassionate people. With their authorization, we’re raising RM20,000 for Li Yang’s surgery. We appeal to kind-hearted individuals nationwide to assist.
Please help spread this message to gather more support, allowing Li Yang to resume a normal, joyful life and return to school soon. Thank you.
