Urgent appeal for RM 2,978 to save a precious young life! A 5-month-old baby boy urgently needs medical equipment to sustain his life and overcome his illnesses. We implore kind-hearted individuals to make an emergency donation to help him through this critical time.
Case No. 1840: Dhareashan Muthaliyar A/L Suntharanathan is suffering from four congenital diseases and has been admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit. He has yet to be discharged due to his severe condition. His impoverished family cannot afford the necessary medical equipment, and we sincerely ask for your compassionate donations to help this baby recover and reunite with his parents.
According to medical reports, Dhareashan was diagnosed with the following four conditions at three months old:
1. Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS)
2. HSV Encephalitis
3. Laryngopharyngeal Reflux
4. CRE carrier (Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae)
Genetic research indicates that Dhareashan’s CCHS includes the “PHOX2B heterozygous GCN repeat expansion (20/26 repeats)” gene, which affects his brain’s ability to control breathing. This can result in him “forgetting” to breathe, especially during sleep. Therefore, he has needed a ventilator to assist his breathing since birth, which also helps prevent more severe complications.
Due to the complexity of his condition, we previously donated RM800 for genetic testing to identify the cause of his illnesses and allow doctors to plan further treatment.
Additionally, Dhareashan underwent a tracheostomy on February 4, 2024. As his health remains unstable, he must stay in the hospital for ongoing treatment and use specific medical equipment. He is the only child of his parents.
His father, Suntharanathan, is working as a truck driver, and his mother, Garthiyan, is a housewife. Because they cannot afford the necessary medical equipment, Da Ai has decided to help this poor baby by crowdfunding for the following items:
