Description
Three-year-old Muhammad Az-Ziqri Bin Sah Rizal, a child with Down syndrome, has two holes in his heart and requires urgent help! We earnestly appeal to kind-hearted people nationwide to donate RM80,000 to help this poor child undergo heart surgery as soon as possible to save his life!
Case No. 1833: Little boy Muhammad Az-Ziqri Bin Sah Rizal urgently needs heart surgery. However, his father, who is a truck driver struggling to support a family of six, finds it extremely difficult to afford the hefty surgical expenses. We earnestly request everyone’s assistance to save this precious young life.
Medical reports indicate that Az-Ziqri suffers from congenital heart disease, specifically mitral regurgitation and atrial septal defects (ASD). He urgently needs surgery to close the atrial septal defect and repair the mitral valve. Delaying the surgery could have dire consequences, even endangering his life.
Our charity workers travelled over a hundred kilometres from our service centre in Petaling Jaya to a village in Selangor for a home visit to better understand the situation. Az-Ziqri’s mother, Norizan Binti Mohd Jais (42 years old), told us that from the moment she gave birth to her son, she hadn’t even seen his face before he was rushed into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). It was only later, from the medical staff, that she learned about his congenital heart condition.
Norizan was also informed that her son had intestinal issues and was born without an anus, requiring hospitalization. Seeing her child lying in the hospital bed with wires and tubes attached was heartbreaking. The doctors performed colostomy surgery, and now Az-Ziqri wears a stoma bag to pass stool. Witnessing her son’s suffering, Norizan couldn’t help but question why such misfortune had befallen her youngest child, especially after her other three children were healthy. She silently questioned, “Is this a test for me? Why is my youngest son so unlucky when my previous three children were all fine?” Despite her anguish, she had to accept reality.
While sharing her story, Norizan couldn’t hold back her tears. As Az-Ziqri has Down syndrome, his health is fragile compared to other children, requiring strict hygiene measures to prevent bacterial infections. Due to his special needs, Norizan showers him with even more love and care. Her husband continuously supports and comforts her through this ordeal.
Despite Az-Ziqri’s numerous health issues, his parents haven’t given up. They persistently take him to hospitals for treatment, ensuring his well-being.
Az-Ziqri is lively, but being a child with Down syndrome, he struggles to communicate. Norizan, as his mother, can easily detect when something is wrong, especially when he suddenly becomes quiet. Whenever she notices such changes, she rushes him to the hospital, fearing oxygen deprivation. Due to oxygen deficiency, Az-Ziqri was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit last December and was only discharged in February this year. Now three years old, he refuses to eat anything other than bread, while his mother continues to care for him diligently.
Medical reports state that Az-Ziqri urgently needs surgery to close the atrial septal defect and repair the mitral valve. At just three years old, he has already undergone multiple surgeries. While the surgeries are physically on Az-Ziqri, the pain weighs heavily on his mother’s heart. She reluctantly accepts that more surgeries are inevitable to save her son’s life.
Norizan is a homemaker, and her husband, Sah Rizal Bin Mohammad Aripin (44 years old), is the family’s sole breadwinner. They have four children, with the youngest being the one in need of medical attention. Their other children are aged 16 (daughter), 14 (son), and 9 (son), all attending school. With the meager income Sah Rizal earns as a truck driver in the rural area, it’s challenging to sustain the family’s livelihood, especially without any savings. Thus, they turn to Da Ai, hoping for crowdfunding to save their son’s precious life.
With the parents’ consent, we are initiating a crowdfunding campaign to cover the RM80,000 needed for Az-Ziqri’s heart surgery. We earnestly appeal to kind-hearted individuals nationwide for assistance and kindly request everyone to share this plea for help so more compassionate individuals can contribute to Az-Ziqri’s surgery, facilitating his speedy recovery and healthy growth. Thank you.
