Case No. 1813: Tan Jie Yi comes from a single-parent family. Her single mother, Yong Chin Man, works at a durian factory, relying solely on a meager income to support two children. Daily life is already very difficult, and they cannot afford the substantial heart surgery costs for their daughter. We hope for donations from compassionate individuals.
Tan Jie Yi unfortunately suffers from Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), commonly known as a hole in the heart, which increases the flow of blood through the lungs. Urgent surgery is needed to close the hole to ensure her safety and restore her health.
Due to the hole in her heart, Tan Jie Yi’s heartbeat accelerates when she sleeps, and she struggles to breathe even when walking a short distance. She cannot play and run like other children because of this condition. Entering adolescence, her heart cannot support her growing body, and without surgery, there is a significant risk of stroke.
Single mother Yong Chin Man herself suffers from lupus erythematosus, a chronic disease that requires long-term management, adding an extra financial burden to her life.
To earn money to meet daily expenses, Yong Chin Man often leaves for work after breakfast and returns home only after the children have fallen asleep. Due to her busy schedule, she rarely has the opportunity to chat and play with her two children, which is a source of great sadness and helplessness for her.
Despite sacrificing precious time with her children and working tirelessly, Yong Chin Man’s meager salary barely covers daily expenses, let alone the substantial cost of her daughter Tan Jie Yi’s heart surgery.
For the sake of her family, Yong Chin Man struggles every day, visibly exhausted when social workers visit. Despite feeling our care, she bravely shares the difficulties of her life, holding back tears.
Faced with the dual pressures of life and illness, Yong Chin Man has thought about leaving this world with her children. However, she realizes that it would be unfair to her two lovely children, who have yet to experience the wonders of the world. Therefore, she refuses to give up hope, facing relentless pressure alone.
As the sole pillar of the family, Yong Chin Man is determined to find a way to support her family and cure her daughter’s illness. However, relying solely on the efforts of a single mother, the burden of the extensive surgery costs is overwhelming. Feeling extremely helpless, she reached out to Da Ai and entrusted us to raise funds from the public, hoping that people would show compassion, generously donate, and help Tan Jie Yi overcome this life-threatening situation and recover her health, allowing her to grow up safely.
