Description
5-year-old girl Daiyana, due to spina bifida, can only crawl with her hands and is unable to excrete normally! Please support the crowdfunding of RM 7,416 to help her lead a better life.
Case No. 1771: Little girl Daiyana Priya needs to purchase a custom wheelchair, a year’s supply of special milk powder and catheters, as well as custom-made shoes. This lively and adorable girl has been plagued by multiple spinal issues since birth, preventing her from walking normally. Additionally, she struggles with normal bowel movements, and her mother, due to financial constraints, is unable to bear the expenses of caring for her. We earnestly request that kind-hearted people help her by supporting crowdfunding for her.
Daiyana Priya A/P Edwin Raj has been afflicted with myelomeningocele and spina bifida since the moment of birth. Despite undergoing surgeries and treatments, she continues to grapple with bilateral equinocavus deformity of the foot, bilateral knee dislocation, and bilateral hip dislocation, preventing her from leading a normal life. Her affected feet still require the use of bilateral solid ankle-foot orthoses to correct their position, and she also needs custom-made shoes.
Due to difficulties in normal elimination, Daiyana relies on her mother, Sithirangee, for assistance, with catheters playing a significant role. However, bowel movements are extremely challenging, and her mother has resorted to using her fingers to help. Due to difficulty with bowel movements, her daughter has to consume specially formulated milk powder as advised by the doctor because regular eating methods would cause her to have a bloated stomach and be very uncomfortable. Because of these special needs, Daiyana’s mother had to give up her job to take care of her.
Mother Sithirangee (35 years old) not working has worsened the financial situation for the family, which relies solely on the meager income of deliveryman Edwin Raj to support their family of five. Apart from Daiyana, the couple has two daughters who are still in school. The father struggles to cope with the ongoing expenses for Daiyana’s catheters and prescribed milk powder.
Next year, Daiyana is reaching school age and needs a custom wheelchair to support her back, preventing the deterioration of her condition due to prolonged sitting. In their desperation, the parents turn to Da Ai for help.
As a mother, Sithirangee is deeply concerned about her daughter’s condition and future. She confided to a social worker that there is no one better than her to care for Daiyana, expressing worries about entrusting her to others. She fears that outsiders might not provide adequate care or, worse, mistreat or harm her.
Sithirangee acknowledges the impossibility of caring for Daiyana throughout her life, given the inevitable process of aging. In a heartbreaking statement, she said, “If I pass away, I will take her with me. I cannot bear to see her suffer in someone else’s care.” This desperate plea reveals the depth of a mother’s love, leaving a profound impact. We comfort Sithirangee, reminding her to approach everything from a positive perspective, because in this world, there is love, and warmth can be found everywhere.
With the parents’ authorization, we initiated this crowdfunding campaign, urging kind-hearted people to come forward and help Daiyana lead a better life and attend school. Thank you.

We also hope that kind-hearted individuals can help spread this message and involve more people in assisting. Thank you.
