Description
Case No. 1770: We earnestly request your support in crowdfunding for the funeral arrangements of Ms. Loo Cheng Harn, who passed away at the nursing home in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Ms. Loo, a 75-year-old elderly woman with no known relatives, faced a lonely and challenging life. Previously residing in a housing unit in Seremban, she accidentally injured her spine in early July and was hospitalized for treatment. Upon discharge, the hospital arranged for her to stay at a nursing home in Petaling Jaya due to her frail health. Unfortunately, she recently passed away, and as there are no family members to handle her funeral, we kindly appeal to compassionate individuals to donate to her funeral so she can rest in peace soon.
Separated from her relatives for many years, Ms. Loo Cheng Harn was described by carers at the non-profit nursing home as a pleasant and sociable person. Despite her spine injury, she remained independent, able to eat and walk slowly without inconveniencing others. Our social workers learned that, after her spinal injury in Seremban, she had to call an ambulance herself due to the lack of family support, highlighting her unfortunate circumstances.
Ms. Loo relied solely on government assistance to sustain her daily life. After residing peacefully in the nursing home for over five months, on the morning of December 9th, carers attempted to wake her for breakfast, only to find her unresponsive, showing signs of lifelessness. The carers promptly alerted the authorities, and upon the arrival of the ambulance, it was confirmed that Ms. Loo had passed away. According to the death report, she passed away at 10 a.m. due to geriatric disease.
Under the entrustment of the non-profit nursing home, we are handling the whole funeral process for Ms. Loo Cheng Harn, which includes body transfer, cremation, prayer ceremony, and scattering the ashes into the sea. We earnestly request everyone to donate to her funeral so she can rest in peace soon.
If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers at Da Ai for more information. Thank you.
Ms. Loo Cheng Harn’s prayer ceremony will be held at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour (Hall P) in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, followed by cremation on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. The ashes will be scattered into the sea, allowing Ms. Loo to rest in the embrace of nature.
