Description
A lung has lost its function! Urgent plea for a 3-year-old girl! Kindly request donations of RM4,500 to help her purchase an oxygen concentrator to assist with breathing and sustain her life.
Case No. 1768: Nur Jannah was diagnosed with right lung failure just two days after birth, a very rare lung disease that led to a bluish discoloration of her entire body due to a lack of oxygen. Her life was saved in the neonatal intensive care unit, and due to the severity of her condition, she remained hospitalized until she was over a year old. The little girl now urgently needs an oxygen concentrator to maintain her breathing, but her parents cannot afford one. They earnestly appeal for help from compassionate individuals.
Since being discharged over a year ago, Jannah’s mother, Syahfinah, has been borrowing a hospital-owned oxygen concentrator for her daughter. Jannah is now 3 years old, and the deadline for returning the oxygen concentrator has arrived. Due to their impoverished circumstances, her parents are unable to purchase this life-sustaining machine, causing great anxiety and helplessness for her mother.
Nur Jannah Assyifa Binti Zaidee suffers from Childhood Interstitial Lung Disease, a chronic and complex condition severely affecting her breathing. Her right lung has failed, requiring continuous intubation and respiratory support 24 hours a day since birth.
Recalling her pregnancy at 36 weeks, Syahfinah was informed by obstetricians that the fetus’s growth was abnormal, necessitating early delivery to avoid complications. She had no choice but to follow the doctor’s advice and give birth to her daughter prematurely.
The doctors indicated the severity of the daughter’s condition, with a very low survival rate. Despite the shock and heartbreak, the mother prayed tirelessly for her daughter to overcome this life-threatening situation. Fortunately, after more than a year of treatment, the daughter was finally discharged for home care but still requires an oxygen concentrator for round-the-clock assistance.
This year, Jannah’s condition has somewhat improved, and doctors recommend using respiratory support only during her sleep. While this is good news, the borrowed oxygen concentrator from the hospital has expired and must be returned.
Syahfinah, a housewife, and her husband, Zaidee, an ordinary store employee with a meagre income, have an 8-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter, with Jannah being the second child. Due to their financial struggles, they cannot afford to purchase an oxygen concentrator, leaving the parents desperate and helpless. In desperation, they turned to Da Ai for assistance.
On behalf of the parents, we appeal for generous donations to fund a Philip Everflo (5L) oxygen concentrator priced at RM4,500. The package includes a nasal cannula, a bottle humidifier, an E-size oxygen cylinder, and an adjustable oxygen concentrator trolley.
We earnestly request that kind-hearted people support the donation, allowing Syahfinah to care for her daughter Nur Jannah with peace of mind, and we hope for Jannah’s speedy recovery. We also seek assistance in sharing this plea for help to reach more compassionate individuals who can contribute to ensuring Nur Jannah enjoys a happy childhood and grows up in good health. Thank you.
