Description
Case No. 1747: We earnestly implore kind-hearted individuals to extend their compassionate assistance for the funeral arrangements, allowing Ms. Moo Su Kim, who spent her entire life toiling and ultimately passed away in the hospital, to complete her final journey and rest in peace soon.
Ms. Moo Su Kim, aged 69, was a single mother. After her husband’s passing, she had to work tirelessly just to make ends meet, and she never had the chance to enjoy her later years before she departed from this world. Her sudden departure leaves her daughter incapable of covering the unexpected funeral expenses. We kindly implore everyone to help with the donation for Ms. Moo’s funeral so that she can rest in peace soon.
Ms. Moo Su Kim began experiencing severe headaches and blurred vision in June of this year. She repeatedly fell at home, prompting her daughter to admit her to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, due to the recurrent nature of her illness, she could not be discharged. Early on September 16th, her daughter received a heartbreaking call from the hospital informing her of her mother’s passing.
According to the death report, Ms. Moo Su Kim succumbed to septic shock caused by pneumonia at 5:23 a.m. on September 16th, with an unfortunate secondary infection of type 2 Nocardia.
With all three daughters having modest incomes, they lack the means to cover the sudden funeral costs and thus appeal to Da Ai. Her eldest daughter, Lee Khai Ling, narrated that her mother suffered from hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. In her earlier years, she even underwent heart valve replacement surgery and required constant medication for blood thinning. Khai Ling’s father passed away long ago, leaving the family’s financial stability solely reliant on her mother’s income from taking care of other people’s children.
During her hospitalization, Khai Ling was informed that her mother had multiple bleeding sites in her brain and bladder, necessitating several admissions to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for emergency treatment. Recently, her mother had become dependent on an oxygen machine for 24-hour respiratory support. Doctors had recommended a tracheostomy procedure for her mother, but due to concerns about her advanced age and the associated risks, Khai Ling had not yet consented to the surgery.
Khai Ling had hoped that her mother would overcome this life-threatening ordeal and continue to live a fulfilling life. However, her mother succumbed to her illness. Reflecting on her mother’s lifetime of labor and the absence of a peaceful retirement, Khai Ling is filled with profound grief and a sense of helplessness. Under these circumstances, she seeks the assistance of Da Ai and entrusts us with the responsibility of arranging her mother’s funeral.
We are handling the whole funeral process for Ms. Moo Su Kim, which includes body transfer, prayer ceremony, cremation, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.
If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers at Da Ai for more information. Thank you.
Ms. Moo Su Kim’s prayer ceremony will be held at Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour Kuala Lumpur (Hall G) on Monday, September 18th, 2023, followed by cremation on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023. The ashes will be placed by the daughter, Lee Khai Ling, in a niche at the Kwong Tong Crematorium Tower that was purchased earlier.
