Description

Case No. 1740: Urgent Appeal! A 4-year-old girl suffering from a congenital heart defect needs urgent surgery to save her life. We appeal to kind-hearted individuals to donate RM50,000 for the surgery’s cost!

The lively and adorable 4-year-old girl, Lee Wan Lin, has always been the apple of her parents’ eyes. However, recent medical confirmation revealed that she has a congenital heart defect, commonly known as a “hole in the heart,” requiring immediate surgery to repair the defect and prevent life-threatening complications. Due to the exorbitant surgical costs, her parents are unable to bear the burden, and thus, they earnestly implore people to extend a helping hand.

Mother Sugiharyanti shared that when their daughter was 6 months old, her rapid heartbeat was noticed, and doctors indicated irregular heart rhythms. Detailed examinations later revealed abnormalities in her heart. At that time, the doctors believed the situation wasn’t severe and that attentive care would suffice. However, at the age of 4, Wan Lin often complained of chest pains and difficulty breathing. Worried parents rushed her to the hospital, where it was confirmed that she had an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), commonly referred to as a “hole in the heart.” Urgent surgery is imperative. Father Lee Ching Sin told social workers that their daughter’s heart defect had exceeded 2 cm, a critical situation causing them deep concern and helplessness.

Faced with such a severe threat to their daughter’s health, the parents are overwhelmed with pain and anguish. When they describe their daughter’s condition to social workers, they are too heartbroken to find words and are brought to tears. Both parents wear worried expressions constantly, fearing they might lose their daughter. They dedicate every day to playing with Wan Lin, yet sometimes her play is interrupted by chest pains that lead to tears, leaving them anxious and at a loss. Their primary concern remains whether Wan Lin can overcome this challenging phase. The father expressed that the pain, anxiety, and confusion are indescribable. All they hope for is to have their daughter undergo surgery promptly, allowing her to remain healthy by their side and joyfully attend school.

The father, an unemployed individual, suffered a brain injury from a car accident in his youth, leading to ongoing physical discomfort and an inability to work regularly. The mother works as a restaurant server with a meagre income. Family expenses rely on assistance from relatives. Therefore, the RM50,000 surgery cost is beyond their means. In their desperation, they turn to Da Ai, entrusting us to help raise funds for their daughter’s surgery.

Your donation can offer hope of survival to an obedient, lively, and adorable young girl. It can also lift her parents out of their predicament, allowing them to share happiness and contentment. We earnestly implore the public to generously contribute, extend a helping hand, and save this precious life. Kindly share this message to enlist more kind-hearted individuals. Thank you!
