Description

Case No. 1729: Appeal to kind-hearted individuals to donate towards the funeral arrangements, allowing the Vietnamese elderly who passed away in a foreign land to rest in peace soon.
Tran Thi Chinh, an 87-year-old elderly woman, travelled all the way from Vietnam to Malaysia to visit her daughter, who was working there. Unfortunately, she passed away before returning home due to unforeseen health issues.
Overwhelmed with grief, the daughter lacks the financial means to bear the sudden funeral expenses. We earnestly request donations from the enthusiastic public so that she can rest in peace soon.
Ms. Tran Thi Chinh, originally scheduled to return home on July 18, had made all the necessary arrangements. However, during this period before her departure, she experienced discomfort and was unable to eat for several days. Tragically, she passed away at her daughter’s residence at 5:30 a.m. on July 15.
When the daughter, Thach Thi Phuong Mai (65 years old), discovered her mother’s silence, she immediately called a friend for assistance. Upon the friend, Kim’s arrival, they promptly contacted the authorities. Medical staff confirmed the passing of the elderly woman upon their arrival.
The daughter, witnessing her mother’s remains, was overcome with tears. Little did she expect that her mother’s visit would be their final reunion, leaving the daughter in profound sorrow.
Thach Thi Phuong Mai has been working in Malaysia for many years and is unfamiliar with the local language. She earns a meagre income by selling tissues and cleaning houses, living in extreme poverty. She also has children to support in her hometown. Despite her diligent efforts, her modest earnings are insufficient to cover the unexpected expenses following her mother’s passing. Helpless, she turned to Da Ai for assistance.
According to the death report, Ms. Tran Thi Chinh passed away on July 15 at 5:30 a.m. due to geriatric disease.
We are handling the whole funeral process for Ms. Tran Thi Chinh, which includes body transfer, Christian memorial ceremony, cremation, and ashes placement. We sincerely call upon everyone to donate to the funeral so she can rest in peace soon.
If anyone is interested in donating for the whole funeral, kindly contact any social workers at Da Ai for more information. Thank you.
Ms. Tran Thi Chinh’s Christian memorial ceremony will be held at Gui Yuan Funeral Parlour Petaling Jaya (Hall 1) on Monday, July 17, 2023, followed by cremation on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. The family will arrange for the ashes to be taken back to Vietnam for placement.
