Description

Case No. 1715: Premature baby girl Wong Shi Ting urgently needs a second heart surgery to save her life. Her condition is critical, and we sincerely appeal for donations.

The baby girl was born less than a month ago and has already undergone her first heart surgery. However, she remains in a state of heart failure, and her life is still in danger. Doctors have stated that a second surgery must be performed as soon as possible, but the parents of the baby girl are unable to afford the large sum of RM100,000.00 required for the surgery. We earnestly request the help of kind-hearted people to urgently donate to her.

Wong Shi Ting’s mother, Yap Sook Yee, is constantly in tears as she worries about her daughter’s condition. Her daughter has been in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for observation since her birth, and she has not had the opportunity to hold her. Seeing her daughter suffer from illness and be covered in medical tubes since birth, she wishes she could bear all the pain instead of her daughter. When we visited the hospital to learn more about their situation, Yap Sook Yee held back her tears and told us about her daughter’s condition. The sound of Wong Shi Ting struggling to breathe and groaning in pain in the peaceful hospital ward was heartbreaking for all who heard it.

Yap Sook Yee and her husband, Wong Soon Ann, had been married for many years and were unable to conceive until she became pregnant with their first daughter. The pregnancy was normal until the 34th week, when due to premature rupture of membranes, and she had to undergo a caesarean section. Due to the premature birth, the baby girl had to undergo close observation. After one week, doctors discovered that her breathing and heart rate were abnormal, and further examination revealed that she had a serious congenital heart disease.

According to medical reports, Wong Shi Ting is suffering from a severe congenital heart disease, which includes:
1.Large perimembranous inlet to outlet VSD, moderate ASD secundum
2.Small aortic valve with posterior malalignment of outlet septum
3.Left arch with hypoplastic transverse and distal arch and severe CoA
4.Bilateral SVC with LSVC drains into RA via CS

Yap Sook Yee and her husband have spent their life savings on their daughter’s treatment fees. On April 12th, their daughter underwent her first heart surgery, but she has not fully recovered and is still dependent on a ventilator to survive. She urgently needs a second surgery to repair her heart.

Yap Sook Yee is a hairdresser, and her husband, Wong Soon Ann, is a technician. Their income is limited, and Yap Sook Yee had to quit her job to care for their daughter in the hospital. All family expenses are now solely supported by Wong Soon Ann. Due to the enormous cost of their daughter’s second surgery, Yap Sook Yee and her husband were unable to afford it and had no choice but to turn to us for help. With the hope of raising funds to help their daughter overcome this life-threatening situation, they appealed to Da Ai for assistance.

On behalf of Shi Ting’s parents, we launched a crowdfunding campaign for RM100,000.00, appealing to kind-hearted people throughout the country to lend their support and help this baby overcome this difficult time in her life.

Kindly help in spreading this message, so that more enthusiastic individuals can lend a hand in this time of need. Thank you.
