Case No. 1696: Due to severe obstruction of the blood vessels in the heart and lungs, Yong Chia Meng’s life is in danger. We appeal for donations to cover the cost of his life-saving surgery.
Yong Chia Meng is only 20 years old and works as a kitchen staff at a local café. He has had congenital heart disease since childhood, and in the past year, he has frequently cared for his elderly grandmother, who is bedridden at night. Due to his hard work during the day, his condition suddenly worsened, and he urgently needs to undergo surgery. However, his poor family cannot afford the massive cost of RM90,000.00 for the surgery, so we earnestly request the public’s help.
Yong Chia Meng is a young man with a bright future who has just started working. He is very filial and often gets up in the middle of the night to arrange feeding tubes and change diapers for his 76-year-old bedridden grandmother, who needs constant care.
Yong Chia Meng’s parents divorced when he was 10 years old, so he was raised by his grandmother and has a deep affection for her.
Since birth, Yong Chia Meng has had congenital heart disease, which has caused a severe lack of blood flow in his lungs and led to hypoxia. He underwent his first heart and lung artery catheterization surgery at the age of five, and his condition has been stable since then. However, after 15 years, he faces a life-threatening situation again.
According to the hospital report, Yong Chia Meng suffers from pulmonary atresia with a ventricular septal defect, which endangers his life and requires urgent conduit replacement surgery. Yong Chia Meng’s mother knows that her son is seriously ill and has returned to visit him and the elderly bedridden person.
Despite facing family and health problems, Yong Chia Meng has never lost hope in life. Instead, he has developed a highly disciplined and strong character by facing the cruel tests of fate. In order to reduce the burden of living at home, Yong Chia Meng applied for a job at a local café and became a kitchen staff. He is diligent and responsible at work, and his attitude has earned recognition from his boss and colleagues.
A few months ago, Yong Chia Meng suddenly felt frequent and inexplicable chest pain accompanied by wheezing and chest tightness. After going to the hospital for an examination, he was diagnosed with severe blockage of the blood vessels in the heart and lungs. Chia Meng’s sudden illness was unbearable because he had always cared for his grandmother, who was unable to care for herself. He cannot afford to fall ill because he needs to take care of his grandmother.
Unfortunately, Yong Chia Meng just started working and cannot afford the huge surgical expenses. He has no relatives who can help him, so he turned to Da Ai for help through crowdfunding for a conduit replacement surgery, which costs RM90,000, in the hope of getting through the difficulty.
We are currently managing this crowdfunding campaign and earnestly request the help of kind-hearted people to save this young man’s life.

On June 8, Chia Ming will be prepared for surgery after being admitted to the hospital on June 6. We hope his procedure goes well and that he recovers quickly.
