Description

14-year-old Ho Rong Xin unfortunately suffered from stage 4 brain cancer. This bad news is a bolt from the blue which shocked and saddened her parents. Her parents were unable to cope with such a huge cost of RM96,000.00 for follow-up treatment and the purchase of anticancer medicine. As the condition of Ho Rong Xin is demand immediate attention, therefore, we earnestly request the help of enthusiastic public to save the poor girl.

Rong Xin has been admitted to the hospital for 33 times of radiotherapy while taking chemotherapy medicine. The process of treatment was very hard, which made her very uncomfortable, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, cramps, distorted face and mouth, and her body suffered a lot. Her mother is very distressed.

The process of fighting against cancer caused Ho Rong Xin, who is only 14 years old, to keep losing her hair. Although radiotherapy came to an end temporarily, the road to fight against cancer did not stop. She had to receive follow-up treatment and continue to take medicine to control her condition. Seeing her daughter being tortured by all the treatments, her mother could only hold back her tears and kept encouraging her daughter and cheer her up, “You will definitely get better.”

Although the little girl Rong Xin is seriously ill, like many children of the same age, she has many visions and dreams for the future. She told the social workers of Da Ai that her biggest dream is to become a singer. Her favorite idols are ROSE and LISA of the BLACKPINK and Song Ya Xuan of the China boy group TNT.

During her time with us, we also discovered that she likes reading. She likes the comics of the author Eddie See Yew Lee, 《KOKKO & MAY》, because the stories in the comics are her and her brother’s longing. Her greatest wish is to taste the delicious food all over the world. However, these beautiful wishes can only be fulfilled after she recovers from her illness.

Rong Xin is grateful to her parents for worrying and working hard for her. She thanked her parents for constantly accompanying her and taking care of her. Although she is young, she showed gratitude and was very well-behaved.

Because she felt that something was wrong with her daughter, the mother took Rong Xin to the hospital for a check-up. This time the doctor suspected that she has a stroke and had particles in her brain. After repeated examinations, the final report issued by the hospital confirmed that she had brain cancer. This malignant tumor is large and stagnant with huge amount of water. So she must immediately receive radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Rong Xin’s father, 48-year-old Ho Wai Keong, was originally a factory worker with a meager income, only RM2,200 a month. Taking care of a family of 4, including Rong Xin’s brother, a 17-year-old disabled OKU child, their life has been difficult. To make a living, he once brought his son with him when he was working. Due to the constant impact on his work, he finally chose to leave his job and focus on taking care of his son at home.

Although Ho Wai Keong has thought about asking someone to take care of his son, the cost of taking care a child is RM1100, so there is nothing he can do and can only take care of himself. His wife, Yap Peik Chin, is the only breadwinner in the family. Her salary cannot cover the family’s living burden, not to mention the huge amount of medical expenses.

Rong Xin’s brother was also distressing. He is a handicapped child, and when his mother was pregnant for about 8 months, doctors discovered that he had a large head and arranged for a scan to determine that the child had hydrocephalus. The mother was reluctant to take away the child, and finally gave birth to the child. The doctor told her that the child’s brain is incomplete, there is also a problem with the mouth, and there are three small holes in the heart.

Originally, the parents thought that since the son was not in good health, it would be better to have a younger sister, who could take care of the elder brother when the parents left. However, things don’t turn out the way they want. The daughter’s condition was more serious than that of the elder brother, which made them sad. But they never gave up. They hope that through the power of the public, their daughter can recover.

Under the entrustment of Ho Wai Keong and his wife, we are handling the crowdfunding of RM96,000.00 for follow-up treatment and medicine fees for Ho Rong Xin. Here, we sincerely ask the help of enthusiastic public by donating for Rong Xin so that she can live healthily. We also hope that everyone can help share this message so that more people know that Rong Xin needs help. Thank you.
