Description

The life of a young lady Mi Moe (20) is on the verge of life and death if she does not undergo a heart surgery to close up the hole in her heart and to treat the condition of pulmonary hypertension (arterial blockage in lungs). The two operations cost a total of RM80,000.

Both Mi Moe and her mother work as a helper in a food eatery which does not give an advantage for them to afford the medical cost. Hence we call upon the enthusiastic public to render your generosity in helping out the girl whose life is at stake.

Mi Moe comes from Myanmar. She was diagnosed with congenital septal defect (hole in the heart) condition when she was 3 year old, the size of hole appeared to be about 1cm. However, due to financial constraints, her mother kept postponing the treatment.

3 years ago, Mi Moe followed her mother Mi Phyone moving abroad to Malaysia under UNCHR scheme in order to seek a better living. Both mother-daughter worked as helpers in a small eatery place here. Nevertheless, while aiming to pursue a better and peaceful life, a tragic news broke out where Mi Moe’s health conditions deteriorated tremendously making her mother profoundly worried.

In February of 2022, Mi Moe suddenly experienced a shortness of breath and rapid heartbeat at work. Noticing such situation, the employer Mrs Lu quickly rushed her to the government hospital. Mi Moe was admitted to the hospital for nearly a month. The hospital advised Mi Moe to undergo more thorough examinations through a heart specialist.

Mrs Lu eventually reached out to Da-Ai for assistance. Our social worker then arranged for Mi Moe to perform more detailed examinations, the results came out ascertaining that Mi Moe not only suffers from a hole in her heart but also a blockage in the blood vessel to her lungs which was the cause for difficulty in breathing and rapid heartbeat. Doctor emphasized the urgency of surgery in such critical condition.

The employer, Mrs Lu, is a nice person. She has no daughter of her own therefore she adores Mi Moe deeply. Getting to know the young girl struggling for life, she constantly burst into tears. She is determined to help this girl thus she needs to congregate a bigger effort from everybody.

For the two impoverished mother and daughter who left their homeland to work in a foreign land, they could fork out little to cope with the RM80,000 medical costs. The mother also understands that her daughter’s surgery can no longer be postponed or she would risk losing her daughter. Out of despair and desperation, the mother approached Da-Ai for help.

The mother thereby entrusts Da-Ai to holistically handle a crowdfunding task of raising RM80,000 to cover the medical costs for her daughter. We call upon all kindhearted individuals across the country to extend your financial help to ease Mi Moe out of her difficulty. To address the urgency, we hope everyone could forward this message to other people so more others could chip-in to help. Your gesture is truly much obliged.

【Update 11 june 2022】

Thanks to people from all over the country for their generous donation of RM80,000.00 for the operation fee to Mi Moe, a girl from Myanmar, who was able to arrange heart stitching and lung surgery. The crowdfunding reached the target and the donation was stopped. thank you all.

This crowdfunding is very touching, because Mi Moe’s Burmese family and friends who work in Malaysia know what happened to her, and they help each other. Although life is not easy for each other, they donate one after another, and the donations are collected and raised. Up to RM49,000.00, plus the RM31,084.00 raised by our great love, the total amount of donations has reached the standard. Thank you very much for all the enthusiastic donations and help.

【Update 8 july 2022】

Good news that moved us! ! Mi Moe operation was successful!

We would like to thank the enthusiastic people from all walks of life for their generous donations to Mi Moer, a girl from Myanmar, so that she can undergo heart and lung surgery smoothly. I am very grateful to all enthusiastic people for their loving donations and help. I also thank the doctors in the hospital for their kind hands and benevolence, which made the operation a success.

Although the operation was successful after many hours, because it is a major operation involving heart suture and lungs, Mi Moer still needs to rest in the hospital and undergo follow-up treatment observation. We wish her a speedy recovery.
