Description
Request for blessing and help of everyone to baby Cheah Yu Hang, who has suffered from illness and pain for six months. As the cost of treatment and medication of RM60,500 has not been settled yet, we earnestly request the help of everyone.
48 hours after the birth of Yu Hang, he could not defecate. After he was hospitalized for observation, the doctor found that his intestines could not absorb nutrients, and had gastrointestinal problems. Therefore, both defecation and nutrition feeding packs must rely on extracorporeal intubation to assist.
Due to the impact of the pandemic, Yu Hang’s father, Cheah Tai Wai, was engaged in delivery work (GrabFood), and Yu Hang’s mother had to quit her job to take care of the baby in the hospital because the baby needs 24 hours of care. They couldn’t cope with the huge medical and treatment expenses. In desperation, they asked the public for help and authorized us to handle the whole process of crowdfunding. We call upon everyone to save the baby and save this family.
34-year-old Cheah Tai Wai told us that the baby cannot defecate after birth. After several months of diagnosis, the doctor confirmed that the cause of the baby was Bowel obstruction, a rare disease. Originally, they delivered the baby at the Kuala Lumpur government hospital. However, due to the severe COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of beds in the government hospital, they were transferred to a private hospital in an emergency.
At present, the baby has undergone two surgery, but the situation is still not well. Cheah Tai Wai and his wife have used up all their savings and even paid for the two surgery with a credit card. However, they still cannot meet the full cost and owed RM10,000 to the hospital.
As the medical expenses are expensive, babies can’t stay in the hospital for a long time, but they must have a sterile room and medical equipment in their homes for recuperation.
This is suggested by the doctor according to Yu Hang’s condition because his illness requires long-term care, and the sterile room must be set up at home to avoid bacterial infection before recuperation and follow-up treatment at home. It is not a problem for the sterile room to have a small space at home. The important thing is that it must meet the anti-bacterial requirements and must have some basic and necessary equipment, such as air purifiers, TPNs, perfuser, etc. There are more than a dozen large and small equipment and supplies. The sterile room and medical equipment alone cost RM20,000.
Cheah Tai Wai’s income is meager and unstable. They also have a 2-year-old daughter to take care of. In order to take care of Yu Hang, his wife has resigned and lost her income. At present, the husband’s income cannot sustain the huge medical and treatment expenses of Yu Hang, and a family of four is facing great difficulties.
Total: RM 60,500.00
