Description
3-year-old Lew Cheng Xin has been plagued by hardships. A doctor cut his urethral tube by mistake, forcing him to have a colostomy bag on his stomach to prevent bacterial infection. He now needs an anorectal and urethral repair surgery to recover. We urge everyone to donate.
Lew Cheng Xin comes from a one-parent family and unfortunately suffers from congenital imperforate anus. He underwent a surgery on the third day after his birth. His mother, Winnie Lew Qi Voon found that her son had urine during excretion and took him back for a follow-up. The doctor confirmed that the situation was normal.
The doctor concealed the facts of the operation accident at that time and only said that if Cheng Xin’s urine and excrement are excreted in the same place, they will cause a bacterial infection. Hence, the child has been using an excretion bag to date. Since his birth, Cheng Xin can only be sent to hospitals instead of ordinary clinics when he has a fever. Winnie has to clean and change his excretion bag every day.
The 25-year-old single mother Winnie Lew Qi Voon has asked many hospital doctors to treat her son, but she did not receive any responses or treatment plans. To make matters worse, after learning that Cheng Xin has such a disease, the father decided to leave both of them and has not contacted them since. These are huge blows to Winnie.
Lew Qi Voon was born a Johorean and she was introduced by a friend that experts in Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur could cure her son, so he took Cheng Xin to a check-up from Johor to Kuala Lumpur. Dr. Nada told her that the child needs anorectal and urethral repair surgery (Costs about RM40,000). Besides, Cheng Xin is required to use an excretion bag for a period of three months after the operation to ensure that the anus and urinary tube have been repaired. The cost of excretion bag supplies and follow-up fees for the three-month period is RM6,400.
Total: RM46,400
We urge everyone to donate to Lew Cheng Xin so that he can live a healthy life. Thank you.
