Description

“2-month-old Chong Ci En suffers from Hirschsprung Disease and unable to defecate. She needs fund for her surgery”

Chong Ci En faced necrosis issues since she was born; the doctor diagnosed her Hirschsprung Disease (HD). To keep her alive, poor Ci En has removed part of her large intestine and needs another surgery to remove the remaining death part of her large intestine and to implant an artificial one.

Premature baby girl Chong Ci En was born with a Caesarean section at 35th week due to insufficient amniotic fluid of mother. Upon returning to home, her parents realised that Ci En has an abnormally swollen stomach. Her father sent her to the Kelantan General Hospital (They live there) two weeks later and the doctor diagnosed her with Hirschsprung Disease (HD). As there is no paediatrics in the state, 42-year-old Chong Sik Shian decided to admit her daughter into a hospital at Kuala Lumpur.

Upon sending her daughter to Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, the doctor decided to remove part of Ci En’s large intestine to keep her alive. The surgery costed Papa Chong RM33,000.

Hirschsprung Disease (HD) usually results in partial necrosis, but Ci En must remove all her large intestine due to full necrosis. Hence, after her first surgery, Ci En had to go through another surgery to remove her remaining large intestine and implant an artificial one. As the baby also had problems with defecation, the doctor also handled these issues during the first surgery. Every 1 of 2-5000 babies suffers from Hirschsprung Disease, with a ratio of male to female of 4:1.

2-month-old Ci En had to face necrosis and defecation issues since she was born. With the diseases threatening her life, Papa Chong is extremely worried.

Papa Chong is a casual worker without any stable income. His main tasks include machine repairs and taking care of bird’s nest houses, with a monthly income of RM2000. During the MCO period, he did not have any income and had to use almost all his savings for her daughter’s surgery fees, life expenses, medical machines, etc. (About RM50,000 in total) As he had to take care of her daughter in Kuala Lumpur, he has also stopped all his jobs.

Chong Sik Shian’s 23-year-old wife Vietnamese wife Huynh Thi Ai Tran has a visa and stayed in Malaysia for 5 years. She needs to wait for another 10 years to become a permanent resident of Malaysia and cannot work here now.

After Ci En went through her first surgery at Pantai Hospital, Papa Chong spent almost all his savings. To lower the surgery cost, the doctor has arranged the second surgery at Tung Shin hospital. A large intestine removing and artificial intestine implantation costs RM22,000 to RM25,000.

Chong Ci En is Mr. and Mrs. Chong’s first child. To save this little baby girl, they can only entrust Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Da Ai Malaysia to crowdfund for Ci En’s surgery fee and milk powder for a year. The budget is RM28,360.

Here Are the Details of the Crowdfunding Budget:
RM25,000——Surgery Fee

RM3,360——Milk Powder for a Year (RM280 x 12)
